Lucio Family Baby Shower

Stepan and I traveled to Ft. Worth for our first baby shower this weekend. It was generously hosted by Diana (my dad's wife) and was attended by a number of relatives from my dad's side of the family. We got some great stuff for the baby and now must get very serious about finding a place to put it all.

Most of all it was great getting to see relatives that we hardly ever get to see including Aunt Bea, Uncle Robert, cousin Diana Lynn and her husband, Kevin (with a "K"), Aunt Helen and her friend, Marty, and cousin Lupe Lou. Mom delayed her departure to Destin in order to come and Meredith flew in for it as well. As an added bonus, Stepan's cousin, Hanka, came with her family including her mother who is currently visiting from Prague.

The party included some traditional baby games, great food, and swimming in Dad's pool. My favorite baby game was trying to name the animal infants. For example, do you know what a baby frog is called? what about a baby alligator? kangaroo? whale?

Pedicure by Aziz

I've been wanting to schedule a pedicure for several weeks now. My polish was starting to chip and the nails were getting long. I'm not SO big that I couldn't have done it myself, but it's just so much nicer (and easier) to have someone else do it for me.

Yesterday, I finally found a last minute opening at Aziz. It's conveniently located downtown and open late on Fridays. I really enjoyed my "foot facial". I know, that evokes weird visuals, but that's what they called this particular service. It included a everything you get with a regular pedicure, plus a mask and a parafin wax dip. The only thing I didn't like about the salon were the pedicure chairs, they seemed a little old and saggy. Regardless, I'll definitely go back at least once before the baby comes, though I'm really looking forward to going after the baby comes so I can try out their Margarita Pedicure.
