We had our first Hypno-Birthing class tonight. I feel really good about going through these birthing classes. The instructors are well-informed: one is a licensed hypnotherapist; the other has experienced a traditional birth (which convinced her that she wasn't going to have any more children) and two births using the hypnobirthing method. I believe the class is going to go a long way to relieving the anxiety I have about labor and bolster my determination and belief that I can do this naturally.
One mental note for the next class: don't wait for the videos to eat dinner. They are gory and graphic (though not frightening) and tend to make one (especially Stepan) loose one's appetite!
A window washer from the Sparkling Clean Window Co just washed the outside windows of my office...on the 11th floor! It was interesting watching him work...I wonder if he could see me? It was just a single guy, in a seat suspended from the roof. His seat included a place to store his squiggy and a place to hang a bucket of soapy water. My windows (wall to wall and nearly floor to ceiling) were sparkling clean in about a minute and a half. My biggest concern was the security of his squiggy...it wasn't tied down. I wonder if he's ever accidentally dropped it?
I've been feeling The Baby move for several weeks now, but Stepan always missed it. He kept saying I was making it up. Well, no longer. In the interest of pre-natal bonding, Stepan has been singing lullabys to The Belly before going to sleep at night. Last night he was singing a Russian lullaby in German and he felt The Baby move. It was very sweet. His eyes got big and he paused a little in his song. He thought it was very cool.
